Eugene
Talasch, Program Director
Eugene Talasch is a highly seasoned IT specialist
with more than 37 years experience.
Eugene has almost 15 years direct experience
in the benchmarking industry and has recently
partnered with IDC to form Benchmarking
Solutions.
In 2005, Eugene founded ET Business Solutions,
a company focused around various IT aspects,
including Outsourcing Consulting, Benchmarking
and other Metrics activities, Service Level
Assessments, Value Assessments and similar.
ET Business Solutions has already performed
more than 50 benchmarks in Australia, Asia-Pacific
and the United States. Clients during this
period included three major airlines, IAG/RACV,
BHPBilliton, Alcatel-Lucent as well as several
vendors and government departments in Australia
and New Zealand.
Eugene has developed a unique high-level
benchmark which allows a typical turn-around
time of about 3 – 4 weeks.
Eugene also worked on the successful development
of various benchmarks, including a value
assessment benchmark, service level assessment,
outsourcing benchmark entirely based on
outsourcing contracts, base-lining for due
diligence or similar activities.
Previously, Eugene worked for META Group
Asia Pacific as Director of the Benchmarking
Practice, responsible for all Asia Pacific
benchmarking activities, including sales,
product development and product delivery.
Eugene built META Group’s benchmarking
group from “zero dollars” to
a “multi-million dollar” business
within three years. Clients Eugene worked
with during that period include: Commonwealth
Bank of Australia (CBA), National Australia
Bank (NAB), Westpac Banking Corporation
(WBC), ANZ Bank, AMP, Allianz, BHPBilliton,
Telstra, etc, as well as most vendors such
as EDS, CSC, HP, IBM, LogicaCMG and Fujitsu.
Prior to joining META Group, Eugene worked
in the outsourcing area with EDS, providing
and managing benchmarking services with
major accounts such as the Commonwealth
Bank of Australia, General Motors Holden,
Australian Tax Office, Australian Custom
Service, the South Australian Government,
to name but few. Eugene was also responsible
for contract issues, service level assessment
and metrics implementation.
He earlier served as a principal consultant
in Gartner Groups’ benchmarking practice,
where he covered telecommunications, banking,
finance, insurance, manufacturing and government
sectors. During his tenure at Gartner, he
personally oversaw benchmarking across more
than 200 organisations in the Asia Pacific
region.
Through Benchmarking Solutions, Eugene will
be supported by the IDC ISIS project team,
comprising a senior executive sponsor, industry
leading analysts and a dedicated project
manager from consulting.
