| IDC
is proud to present the InfraVision Conference
2008 to be held in Sydney at the Four Seasons
Hotel on Wednesday 12th of November 2008.
The key themes are Data Centre Transformation:
Making the Best Choices and Green IT: The
Economy of Ecology.
Today, the transformation
of the data centre relies on the ability
of IT organisations to deliver increased
levels of flexibility and service. IT budgets,
often strained by the need for real estate,
power, and cooling, will shift toward building
new applications and IT services that are
specifically developed to drive new business.
As a result, virtualisation, simplification,
optimisation and automation will become
key drivers influencing the successful transformation
of the data centre.
This event will offer insights
from leading datacentre solution providers
on topics such as enterprise architecture,
datacentre technology trends, innovation,
IT and business direction, agility and the
dynamic IT agenda.
A number of initiatives
are driven by the type of IT a business
possesses and it’s clear that traditional
IT may not fully serve these new needs.
A transformation is the need of the day,
and it’s not a server or particular
software that needs to be replaced, but
the entire data centre that drives the IT
within an organisation.
IDC classifies three primary
types of data centres today based on the
type of business. Web 2.0 data centres are
leading the transformation by setting new
standards in data centre design and architecture.
These companies are fairly new and hence
starting from scratch in the kind of IT
that will support their business model.
Hosted/managed and traditional data centres
are the ones that need to transform in order
to stay competitive and meet the new business
objectives.

What
you will learn from attending this event: |
|
| • |
When
is your data centre ready to be replaced/refreshed? |
 |
| • |
What
kind of power and cooling infrastructure
should be built? |
 |
| • |
Which
new forms of server and storage architectures
should be installed? |
 |
| • |
What
type of infrastructure software solutions
will help you become more efficient
and reduce unplanned downtime? |
 |
| • |
How
can you become more nimble and adaptive
without giving up the availability their
businesses are used to? |
 |
IDC realises it takes a significant amount
of money and effort to build a new data centre
and for that reason it's important for end-users
to have more clarity around the aspects that
help them plan, build and manage their data
centers more efficiently. However, IT itself
may be required to be delivered in new ways
in future. Business managers who want to use
IT more aggressively are looking at CIOs to
simplify the configuration and delivery of
IT within their business divisions or groups.
What steps can be taken to address these needs
of businesses in the future?
IDC’s InfraVision conference strives
to stay a step ahead of trends and will address
these very issues through this exciting multi-city
conference this year.
