FAQ for Journalists

How do I receive IDC Press Releases?
To subscribe please email staylorphillips@idc.com or phone +61 2 9925 2234.

How do I speak to an IDC analyst for my article?

To schedule a comprehensive one-to-one interview with an IDC analyst or consultant, please contact Sally Taylor Phillips, Marketing Communications Manager at staylorphillips@idc.com or phone +61 2 9925 2234.

Click here to view a list of IDC analysts, and their related market and/or technology segments.

What if I can't find in your list an analyst responsible for the market and/or technology segment I am writing on?
In this case, please email Sally Taylor Phillips, Marketing Communications Manager at staylorphillips@idc.com or phone +61 2 9925 2234. Sally will put you in contact with the most appropriate analyst who will be able to assist.

In both cases above, please keep in mind that there might not be an analyst covering the area you are interested in. Additionally the analysts' schedules are extremely crowded, so allow for sufficient time if you require the analyst to return your phone call or respond to your email. If you are working on a very tight deadline, and can't get a hold of the analyst in time, please be understanding.

How do I receive executive summaries of IDC research?
Journalists may have access to abstracts and executive summaries of IDC's research reports and bulletins. Please send your request by email to Sally Taylor Phillips, Marketing Communications Manager at staylorphillips@idc.com and quote the document number you are interested in. The executive summary will then be emailed to you within a few hours.

To view a list of IDC's Australian, Asia/Pacific, and international reports, browse idc.com, IDC's online database containing more than 60,000 research documents. To view just Australian documents, visit idc.com.au/research.

Can I cite IDC research in my article?
Journalists may cite a copy of each graph, slide, or a portion of text less than a paragraph long contained in the executive summary, provided that all portions of text are identified as "Source: IDC" and the copyright notice is affixed to all graphics.

How do I obtain press credentials for IDC events?
Journalists can qualify to receive free admission to IDC events. To obtain press credentials to IDC events, please contact Sally Taylor Phillips, Marketing Communications Manager at staylorphillips@idc.com or phone +61 2 9925 2234.
